Title: Hotel Ruby
Author: Suzanne Young
Release date: November 3, 2015
Summary: Stay tonight. Stay forever.
When Audrey Casella arrives for an unplanned stay at the grand Hotel Ruby, she's grateful for the detour. Just months after their mother's death, Audrey and her brother, Daniel, are on their way to live with their grandmother, dumped on the doorstep of a DNA-matched stranger because their father is drowning in his grief.
Audrey and her family only plan to stay the night, but life in the Ruby can be intoxicating,, extending their stay as it provides endless distractions--including handsome guest Elias Lange, who sends Audrey's pulse racing. However, the hotel proves to be as strange as it is beautiful. Nightly fancy affairs in the ballroom are invitation only, and Audrey seems to be the one guest who doesn't have an invite. Instead, she joins the hotel staff on the rooftop, catching whispers about the hotel's dark past.
The more Audrey learns about the new people she's met, the more her curiosity grows. She's torn in different directions--the pull of her past with its overwhelming loss, the promise of a future that holds little joy, and an in-between life in a place that is so much more than it seems...
Welcome to the Ruby.
Thoughts: Man, this just sounds so intriguing! It sounds like a psychological thriller, horror, contemporary all rolled into one. And the characters already sound interesting, and that synopsis just pulls you right in. I have a feeling that once we read this book, the characters aren't going to be the only one who can't leave the Hotel Ruby. I haven't read any Suzanne Young books yet, but this one is definitely striking my fancy!
Tell me: what are YOU waiting on this Wednesday? Does my choice sound interesting to you? Let me know in the comments below!
I saw this one on another WOW and was completely intrigued by it. It is definitely on my TBR pile now!

It's always satisfying to bring a book to the attention to people who might not have seen it before. :) Thanks for stopping by!

The beautiful cover on this book just screams mystery or horror. Made me initially think of that short-lived tv series called Apartment 666, which was also based on a book, I think. This one sounds really good! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYes, I totally see that connection! I wanted to watch that show, but it never really caught my interest in the first episode, so I moved on. Haha thanks!
